1. The Invisible Man by H.G. Wells. A used copy is just fine!

2. Freaks and Geeks: The Complete Series on DVD. It's only one season, but it's the best ever. And it's one of those shows that I should have watched a million times by now but haven't, so I'm ready to put it on all the time and memorize lines.

3. Stephen King's It. I don't know why I don't have this book anymore, but I really should have it. If I had to be buried (alive) with a book, I'm pretty sure it would be this. ...Whatever that means, weirdo! Check out this image I found while looking for the cover of It.

I know that movie was kind of terrible, but I loved the kids they cast (even if they weren't all right for the parts). I wish Seth Green made it into this photo. He was a great Richie. God, that story is just so amazing and incredible and beautiful and epic.

4. Eddie Vedder posters. But only long-haired pre-beard Eddie. And shirtless, apparently.
That reminds me:
April 17, 1994

Wow. I wouldn't dream of having sex with him- that's how much I loved him/was lying to myself. I was respectful. And eleven years old, YIKES. Keanu Reeves, on the other hand, was treated like a piece of meat in my diary! My 5th/6th grade diary is rough. It's unrated. It's mortifying. I've read Cringe. I know people wrote about silly things in their youth. But I was insane. A very special kind of insane. It's too much. I think I'll have to be an elderly woman before I can share the whole thing. Sometimes I look back on diaries I've kept, and I am appalled, sincerely. I'm glad my brain kept developing.
And oh my god, look at what came up while I was looking for photos of ol' Ed:

That's Steve Perry! I've got one word for you: DANG.
5. Stevie Nicks' entire outfit from this performance:
GODDAMNIT STEVIE!!! She's a fucking unicorn! Wearing that shiny cape. Inspiration for life.
My favorite part I this post was probably when the two photos of Eddie Vedder just appeared all of a sudden. I should say your writing came a close second for sure;)
ReplyDeleteI'll get you The Invisible Man, dude! Shotgun! I'm calling shotgun on it. On the book. That's available for free online. See, I teach it every year, and that means I have copies laying around everywhere. Do you want boring lesson plans and writing assignments? YOU GOT IT.
ReplyDeleteLee says he has a better copy of The Invisible Man - from Nan's collection. And he wanted me to say he'd give that to you before we read Marcus's comment. So there. Because we won't give you our copy of It.
